Welcome to the STARS Providers website
As a provider, you deserve recognition and appreciation for your efforts to go beyond basic regulatory requirements to enhance the overall quality of care for children in your program. Providers can look to STARS as a welcome sign of respect.
Some communities offer up to 10 hours a week of preschool for three- and
four-year old children through the public schools or in partnership with
other qualified community programs (child care, Head Start, Parent Child
Centers, etc.). One requirement is that these programs possess a minimum
of three STARS with a plan to achieve four STARS in three years or be nationally
accredited. If you are interested in becoming a qualified provider eligible
to receive funding to provide pre-kindergarten education services, it is
important to obtain the appropriate STARS rating before contacting your
local school to see if this option is available.
